Norfolk Seaside Towns

As one of the hottest and driest counties in the UK, Norfolk is an ideal location to enjoy a family seaside holiday. Come to the bustling Norfolk seaside resort of Cromer, with a wonderful pier, great seaside shows and entertainment for all the family. Don't forget to try one of the famous Cromer crabs ! And take in nearby Sheringham - hop on board the North Norfolk Poppy Line for a steam train ride through the coastal countryside and drink in the scenic seaside views of Norfolk. Visit Victorian Hunstanton and walk along its famous candy striped cliff-face for views out across the Wash. Hunstanton is the only eastern resort that faces west so you'll see some spectacular sunsets. If you're after somewhere jam-packed with family fun, you won't do better than Great Yarmouth. With fabulous piers, top seaside entertainment and the famous golden mile with amusement arcades, rides and attractions, you'll be busy from morning to night.

Norfolk Villages

Norfolk's countryside is sprinkled with pretty little villages, each with their own individual character. Some are quiet and unassuming, yet turn a corner and you'll stumble across hidden gems such as thatched roofs, flint-fronted houses or fisherman's cottages. Catch a cricket match on the village green, potter around the little church, then call in at a welcoming pub for some local fayre and a pint of "Wherry" beer. Others, such as Burnham Market, are the epitome of sophistication with stylish shops and award-winning restaurants. Here you'll find fine food, beautiful clothes, elegant galleries and gifts to rival the best Covent Garden can offer.

Visit the working windmill and bakery at Great Bircham (c) Bircham Windmill
Many of the villages in Norfolk are packed with history and several have village trails to help you explore. Experience 12th century life with an audio tour at Castle Rising castle or come toCastle Acre Priory and discover how the monks used to live. Climb up the windmills at Denver, Letheringsett and GreatBircham and watch flour being made - what an amazing view! - or visit Great Cressingham to see the rare wind and water mill.
Lots of our Norfolk villages have museums so you can potter around rambling collections at places such as Litcham, andGressenhall Farm & Workhouse where you can even explore inside the old workhouse. Or put on your flying jacket and take a trip to Horsham St Faith to visit the fine City of Norwich Aviation Museum.
If you fancy your history a little more light-hearted, you can roam amongst dinosaurs at Weston Longville's Dinosaur Adventure, let the kids play on the 75ft activity dinosaur, relax by the water gardens and then picnic in the park!
One of Norfolk's round tower churches - Little Snoring Church (c) Norfolk Tourism
And Norfolk villages are peppered with churches. In fact we've got over 700 of them, many with round towers, such as Little Snoring Church (pictured)! Come inside to see the hefty old pews, delicate wall paintings or beautiful stained glass windows and hand carved ceilings. If you pop into Burnham Thorpe's church you'll also find some Nelson memorabilia as his father was vicar there. Or why not wander round the holy shrines of Walsingham and follow in the footsteps of pilgrims from centuries ago. There's still a wealth of religious buildings and a special peaceful atmosphere.
Whichever Norfolk village you visit, there's always something going on from finding a potter at his wheel to open gardens or a busy nursery. If you time it right, you may catch a lively village fete, a flower festival or even some morris dancers. Come along and join in the fun - you'll soon get caught up in all the excitement and we'll have you waving a scarf and ringing your bells in no time at all...!
Phew finished for today and in desperate need of my bed!!! For some strange reason I decided to have a clearout of clothes etc and sell them on Ebay all 50 items. Big mistake when 42 of them sell on the same day and you end up spending the next 2 days packaging, going to the post office, shaking your head wondering why you're doing it when you really aren't making any money. Except for hubster who had a bike that he'd found in the garage of our last property that the last tenants had dumped/left. On ebay £71 cash in the hand, thank you very much. Sainsburys here we come lol!!! Finally down to sending out my last 3 parcels tomorrow yay, still awaiting payment for 2 items boo and then i'll be finished. Well I wish i'd finished but you look around the house and think hmmm that could go and that and that and before you know it you have another 50 items for sale.
Sooooooooooo in a long winded version, off to bed. Enjoy reading, sorry there are so many posts.
