Apparently not always the case after waiting for 48 hours for an answer, it was NO!!! It appears as if the landlords had friends that were also interested in renting out the property so obviously their preference is to their friends not a couple of strangers ( I knew it was my flip flops).
So we are completely back to square one - do we continue looking in Norfolk, venture out to Somerset and Devon or stay here for the next two years??????
I so wish I had the answers. The 5 bed house in Norfolk costs £795pcm to rent, today we went to view a 4 bed house in Ickenham at £1500 :( rubbish 70's kitchen although white goods were new, bathroom PEACH and separate toilet (haven't seen that in years lol) but a living room and garden to absolutely die for. Hubster most impressed by the punch bag hanging down from an apple tree and they had fishes (albeit not chickens) . Hubster offered £1350pcm to be told be a very very stuck up stern lettings agent "I manage this property and I know the landlord won't rent out for anything but £1500". Said property has been on the market for 3 months you do the maths at how much they are losing, and i'm sure we're not going to have been the only ones that have offered on this property.
A few other issues have come up this week too which has lead us to thinking we might need to stay in the area but we still keep going back to the property sections because you never know!!! Off to Devon in June and might get swayed into the idyll that is a pretty village by the coast, its now or 2 years but either way it will happen.
Need to wallow in my glass of red now, adios for now!!!
