2 of my kids. (14 & 8)
1 of our kids :) (0)
Apart from a few little moans and groans the holiday went remarkably well, much better I would say than when we have weekends today. Its most likely the whole we're on holiday we can all relax persona but whatever it was it worked and (I think) we all came away thinking the holiday had been really good.
Lots of time was of course spent in the arcades (various ones of course, better betting odds), once in the night club 2 adults and 6 childrens, drinks, slush puppies and portions of chips is enough to bankrupt anyone lol!
We had a wonderful meal brought for us by hubby's mother in law (thank you maam) which was really nice, it was a buffet bbq for all the family. Hubby mum, hubbys sister, brother in law, niece and nephew and now I have to get this right sisters mother in law, sisters brother in law and hmmmm stumped at the last little one????
Got on really well with my sister in laws - mother in law bit of a mouthful I know. We had lots in common. She married a man who had 4 children, whilst she had 3 from previous relationships and then had the one together. Much as ours 4 on my side, 3 on hubbys and then we had our beautiful milk monster.
Anyway on the Monday hubby drove down to London to collect his kids and I drove from Norfolk up to Mablethorpe in Lincs. Great description of the place, 10 mins walking to the beach again yay (hate having to get in a car all the time to go out), night club, shop, bar, swimming pool etc etc.
So let me get the first things out of the way
Beach at SALTFLEET (naming and shaming) 10 mins??????
Unexploded bombs (I kid you not)
Nightclub hmm small but found seats ok, even for ALL of us. No red berry cider FAIL :( Hubby and ma very much still in love though result, he made this photo when we were in the club bless him :).
Shop nothing & I repeat nothing in it!!!!
Swimming pool open 10-5 but didn't know about the closed for lunch between 1-2 very shivery boys & girls as all changing areas were used up as the whole pool got kicked out at the same time.
Good points it had a bath, seriously a caravan with a bath, absolute luxury compared with what we had last week lol!
Went into Mablethorpe one day and kids spent the entire afternoon playing in the inflatable area, older two not impressed that they are classed as adults and had to be happy playing crazy golf.
Had lunch, did the sand train, milk monster wasn't really impressed with that and screamed until we hit the waves then did his Jekyll and Hyde and became this placid creature who wouldn't say boo to a goose. Then oh bless he went on a donkey, it was purely just for a photo but he didn't want to get off so I went with him holding onto him for dear life and avoiding the other donkey's sprays of wee (nice) and he only flippin well loved the ride,
On a midweek break there's only so much time you have by the time you arrive on the first day to leaving on the last day, so we did Mablethorpe day 2, Chapel St Leonards (with hubby's family) day 3, then had a very bored day on day 4. Thought we'd stay on site for the last day as we had to do all that driving again but by 3pm we were almost all killing each other. 2 older boys stayed in the seats to which I believe they might have been glued
Back home today after a pretty easy journey except for the fact that I try and be clever and go cross country sometimes for a short cut. It never works and an hour later I was back on the A47
Kids did get a McDonalds though (their first in Norfolk) and the queue was out the door
TTFN!!!!
